The Environment

RI State Parks, Beaches, and campgrounds are home to a wide variety of plants and animals.  These living things are each affected by the trash and waste we human leave behind.  Whether it is a fish in the water or a squirrel in a tree the environment they call home has been contaminated by trash.

  • Styrofoam Products  

    • Plastic Cups+Straws

      • Rubber Tires

        • Aluminum Cans

          • Glass Bottles 

            • Fishing Line

              • Cigarette Butts​

These are some of the most common items discard and left behind in state parks each of these have impacts on the environment. Littering can be simple thoughtless action done by an individual doing only what is convenient for themselve without regard for other people around and environment.  

It is our responsibility to keep our parks cleans for our current and future generations to enjoy.
