Parks and Recreation

Rhode Island is home to more than 25 State parks, Campgrounds, and Beaches.  These and many more lands are managed by the Division of Parks and Recreation.  These lands follow Rhode Islands "Carry-in and Carry-out" trash policy.  

Who Goes to the Park

 

According to the R.I. DEM more than 1 million travel to Rhode Islands State Parks and Beaches and close to 100,000 people visit the states campgrounds annually.   

Activities in the Park

 

Their are many activities you can do inside various State Parks.  Including; Mountain Biking, Hiking, Kayaking, Bridle Trails, Picnics, Nature Walks, and organize your own events.  

Trash in our Parks

 

Unfortunately trash is an ever present battle in our parks.  You can help stop the spread of trash by following the easy suggestions in How to Help page.
